State of Missouri Web site has link to making donations to established agencies

Gov. Jay Nixon issued a statement today to encourage Missourians to donate to relief efforts for the victims of the earthquake in Haiti and to let them know there is a link to established and trustworthy relief organizations through the state of Missouri Web site,

"In the aftermath of last week's devastating earthquake in Haiti, many Missourians are asking about the best ways they can help the victims of this disaster," Gov. Nixon said. "In addition to our prayers, donations of money to relief organizations are greatly needed. I encourage Missourians to give generously to organizations and agencies that have a well-established track record in helping people in great need.

"The state of Missouri Web site, www.mo.gov, has a prominent link to the USAID page, where Missourians can give their donations and know they will be put to the best possible use. I ask the people of the Show-Me State to give what they can to help those affected by this tragedy, which is of an almost unimaginable scale."
